Legendary Marine SUCKS!
Legendary Marine in Panama City sells some of the nicest boats money can buy. Anyone who has spent any time shopping for a boat in the Big Bend can tell you that. You may even be able to find the boat of your dreams there at a fair price. On the surface this might seem like a place you would want to do business. After all the people are sure nice while they're pitching you on buying a $100,000 plus boat.
However, what's lurking underneath the surface is always much more sinister and devastating than the picturesque setting of your dream boat cruising back to port with a full fish box. What starts out as a relaxing endeavor quickly turns into a hellish experience.
In today's global economy markets are constantly being introduced to new products lines. All with massive amounts or PR and marketing touting themselves as being the best. Consumers have a hard time figuring out what's legitimate and what's hype. Worst yet is the risk of buying your big ticket item from a company who has no interest in you as customer, but rather as a number on a spreadsheet.
With legendary customer service fail, after customer service fail it is clear that Legendary Marine in Florida does not care what they are known to be legendary for. All they care about is making as much money as they can from you.
With a reputation for not taking care of their customers on the backside of a purchase when the dealership is needed the most should give anyone thinking of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a boat to spend that money elsewhere for this one simple reason.
"I spent $125k on a brand new sea hunt and the service I received was terrible. They would not back up the quality of their boat and I had to beg to get something done. I ended up telling them to not touch my boat and Sea Hunt offered to let me take it to a non authorized dealer. I have 5 boats and this is by far the worst service I have ever got."
"Horrible experience from service. I had a Verado power head rebuilt to the tune of 13k!! The kicker is I was quoted 8.5k and nobody ever told me about extra costs/expenses until the invoice came in. Trevor the service mgr is all talk on the phone and no- absolutely NO action. Avoid at all costs."
"Recently I drove from Atlanta Ga to buy a used boat at the Ft Walton location. Upon arrival and inspection of the boat, it was not as described in the ad and also in the conversation with the salesman over the phone. The issues with the boat were understated and other issues were not mentioned at all. The staff was aware of me coming days ahead and I texted my sales man to let him know I would be an hour early. Upon arrival the boat was no where ready for a sea trial. The batteries were dead and being charged, and the technicians were still working on the boat. I am thankful I brought a friend who is familiar with boats. As a beginner boater, I would have regretted purchasing this boat for a long time."
"Throw your money overboard, you'll be better off! Our family has boated for 20+ years and never have experienced such incompentence. They are part swappers who have no idea what is actually wrong with your boat. Every time we called to get an update on our boat they gave us a different story of what was wrong with it. They lie to you to buy more time to fix it because they have no idea of how to fix it. We would try to talk to someone who was in charge and we never got a call back aspromised. It was like being stuck in the Bermuda Triangle. When we went there in person to get an update we where surrounded by the three stooges who run the service department and not one of them could explain to us what was going on. No apologies only excuses. Weekly our bill would increase, yet our boat was never done and ready for pick up. They had our boat hostage for over 2 months and when we finally got it back it still had the same problem. If I would have listened to the locals I would have never taken our boat here. The good reviews are obviously wrote by the owner because this place is bad. It is better to be safe and not sorry about who we give our money to. We would have felt better just throwing our money in the trash!"
The odds might be in your favor that doing business with Legendary Marine won't turnout to be the worst experience of your life. But when you're buying a $250,000 boat, and you know that it has happened in the past, why take the chance that it might be you that it happens to next?
